Being that today, August 18th, is National Couples Day, Rifflandia has announced the return of ‘Lovelandia,’ which will allow couples to get married while attending the festival.
Lovelandia will be hosting a limited number of weddings on the festival grounds at Rifflandia on the fourth day of the festival, Sunday, September 14th.
Those interested will be married by an official marriage commissioner, have bouquets or boutonnieres provided, professional photos as well as two day passes to Rifflandia.
“True love is mandatory, theme day costumes are optional,” wrote Rifflandia in a media release.
“Whether you’re festival sweethearts, longtime partners looking for a one-of-a-kind venue, or simply want your big day soundtracked by world-class live music, Lovelandia is ready to make it happen.”
Spaces to be married as a part of Lovelandia are limited, and prospective couples must secure their own BC marriage licence in advance.
In addition to Lovelandia, the festival lineup this year boasts some of the most talented and popular artists of all genres this year, comedians from throughout North America, dozens of food vendors, artisans and more.
This year’s big headliners are Maribou State, TroyBoi, Public Enemy, NxWorries (Anderson .Paak & Knxwledge), Alessia Cara, Charlotte Cardin, Walk Off The Earth, William Prince, Macy Gray, Shakey Graves, Sleater-Kinney, The Dead South, JP Saxe, Taiki Nulight and Dirtwire, though there is plenty more talent to be seen and heard.
As this is the 15th edition of Rifflandia, the festival launched its new Give Where You Riff initiative, which supports 15 local organizations by having 15% of every ticket sold go directly back into the community.
This year, Rifflandia will be transforming Victoria’s Matullia Lands at Rock Bay for the four-day festival, but will not be utilizing the stage space in Phillips Backyard.
Tickets are available now, with varying options of how to enjoy the festival, including Super Passes, VIP Passes, Single-Day tickets, Friend Packs, Family Packs, Kid Passes, and Layaway plans.
