Vancouver Island is renowned for its beauty and near-pristine beauty, which was recently recognized in Condé Nast Traveler’s list of top 25 destinations for adults to spend spring break.
The prestigious travel guide calls Vancouver Island a scenic chunk of land with Victoria on its south and UNESCO-designated biosphere reserves stretching further north.
“It’s the perfect destination to reset and recharge before diving back into Q2 work assignments, where even the most action-packed activities (backcountry hiking, whale watching, etc.) offer a rejuvenating new view of the world,” wrote travel writers Caitlin Morton and Kat Chen.
Specifically, Condé Nast recognized the esteemed Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge, located near Tofino and only reachable by boat.
This site is set deep within a Pacific Northwest old-growth forest, with the ocean a mere walk from each room’s front door.
According to Condé Nast, the lodge is like a sleepaway camp for adults, complete with canvas tents to sleep in and with a myriad of outdoor excursions available to guests.
Even though the accommodations are canvas tents, Clayoquot Wilderness Lodge’s 25 luxurious safari tents each include a private deck and personal bathrooms with heated floors.
Additionally, the site features a world-class spa and farm-to-table meals made with the best local ingredients.
Accommodations start at around $3,300 a night and the lodge is closed until late May, when they open until the end of December.
Other places which made Condé Nast’s list of top spring break destinations include San Diego, California; Costa Rica; Alabama’s Gulf Coast; Black River, Jamaica; Puerto Rico and more.
