If you grew up loving those classic creamsicle bars, there’s a new Canadian-made product making its way to Victoria, and it’s packed with local fruit and hometown flavour.

Friceys, an Albertan family-run company founded in 2020, is delivering a fresh take on the traditional fruit-and-cream combo with its signature ice cream bars—the prairie fruit pop!

Made with real Canadian dairy and locally sourced berries from family farms across BC and Alberta, these creamy, fruity treats are designed to take you back to a time when food was homemade, flavourful, and simple.

And with quality fruit as the first ingredient, there’s no artificial guess-work—you’ll know exactly what it is you’re eating, and your tastebuds will thank you for it.

Raspberry and blueberry flavours are supplied by Berry Bounty Farms in Chilliwack, while sour cherry and saskatoon berries come from farms in Alberta.

Friceys grows its own haskap berries with partner company, Broken Tine Orchard—offering a unique and flavourful fruit you won’t find in many other frozen desserts.

“As a company and a producer of one of the available flavors, we really wanted to bring sustainable local fruit and ingredients to our customers,” the Friceys team told Victoria Buzz.

“So they, in turn, can aid in promoting and empowering other local producers to help create one of the best fruit-based ice cream treats in Canada.”

So far, Victoria locals can try the Raspberry Friceys bar at The Ice Cream Truck, Cedar Springs Ranch and Market on Millstream. The company is hoping to partner with more local retailers in the near future to bring their full lineup of flavours to the island.

Check out their store locator, here. If you wish to place an order through Friceys, you can do so on their ‘Contact‘ page.

“Big thanks to the retailers that have taken us in so far!” said the Friceys team.
