Pacific FC set to launch 2025 season with home opener in Langford this weekend

Calling all soccer fans!

Pacific FC is kicking off their 2025 season with momentum—and an offer fans won’t want to miss. The Canadian Premier League (CPL) club is launching a bold new ticket initiative called Ride the Wave.

For just $40, supporters can grab a seat for the home opener on Saturday, April 5th at Starlight Stadium in Langford. But here’s the catch: if Pacific FC wins or draws, that ticket also earns fans free admission to the next home game.

The streak continues until the club suffers a loss—making every match not just a game, but a chance to keep the ride going.

It’s a fitting way to launch what promises to be an exciting new chapter.

The Saturday, April 5th home opener at Starlight Stadium promises fireworks as Valour FC looks for revenge. PFC’s 1-0 win over Forge last October knocked Valour out of playoff contention, extending their six-season CPL playoff drought.

The CPL has launched its new Made in Canada brand campaign, celebrating the league’s role in developing domestic talent and building community across the country. Headlined by a hero ad debuting during the Concacaf Nations League Finals on TSN and OneSoccer, the campaign tells authentic Canadian soccer stories that reflect patriotism and progress.

Since 2019, nearly 400 Canadians have played in the CPL, with 73% of minutes going to homegrown players. Standouts like Kwasi Poku, Grady McDonnell, and Emil Gazdov have earned record-setting transfers, while 12 current players and several alums have been capped by Canada’s national team.

“Canada is unified like never before by a sweeping movement of Canadian patriotism, a feeling we at the Canadian Premier League can uniquely identify with,” said George Fadel, Vice President, Marketing, Canadian Premier League.

The CPL is also a launchpad for Canadian coaches, referees, and administrators, helping shape the game on and off the field.

Pacific has reloaded its roster with a mix of returning stars, rising local talent, and proven veterans, all under the leadership of head coach James Merriman and captain Josh Heard.

Familiar faces Marco Bustos and Kadin Chung are back in purple, reuniting on the pitch where they made a name for themselves with electric play and big moments. Both bring invaluable experience, leadership, and creativity to a squad focused on connecting with fans through an energetic, attacking style of football.

Youth continues to play a vital role as well, with development players Will Edgson, Mattias “Rocco” Hallam, and Mattias Vales all earning contracts after progressing through Pacific’s academy and the Vancouver Island Wave program.

Their presence highlights the club’s commitment to fostering homegrown talent and creating opportunities for the next generation.

With momentum building and community engagement front and centre, Pacific FC is poised to make a splash in 2025. The Ride the Wave ticket promotion is more than a great deal—it’s a rallying call for fans to be part of every moment, every match, and every goal.
