Music fans across Vancouver Island will have the chance to start their Canada Day celebrations a little early when The Great Canadian Bash returns for its second year this June.
The event takes place Saturday, June 27th at Starlight Stadium in Langford and will feature performances from two of Canada’s most well-known rock acts, Our Lady Peace and The Tea Party.
Festivities begin at 3 p.m. with the Great Canadian Cookout, where guests can enjoy classic BBQ favourites, traditional sausages, and slow-cooked meats from local producers and food trucks.
DJ Devlin will be spinning music throughout the afternoon to get the crowd warmed up for the evening performances.
The pre-show starts at 4:30 p.m. with pop-rock multi-instrumentalist Darrian Gerard taking the stage, followed by Victoria-based alternative pop-rock duo Cold Fame.
At 7 p.m., The Tea Party will perform a full set featuring singer and guitarist Jeff Martin, bassist Stuart Chatwood, and drummer Jeff Burrows.
The trio has built a reputation for blending rock with global musical influences and distinctive instrumentation.
Closing out the night will be Our Lady Peace, the multi-platinum Canadian band known for hits like Clumsy, Superman’s Dead, and Somewhere Out There.
The band’s lineup includes lead vocalist Raine Maida, bassist Duncan Coutts, guitarist Steve Mazur, and drummer Jason Pierce.
