Get ready, football fans of Victoria.
The BC Lions announced there will be a FREE two-day football event leading up to when the team face the Ottawa Redblacks on Saturday, August 31st, at Victoria’s Royal Athletic Park.
The event starts on Thursday, August 29th and Friday, August 30th at Point Inner Harbour and will feature musical entertainment, food and beverages, and meet-and-greet sessions with players from the Lions and Redblacks— it will run from noon to 7 p.m.
Additionally, Friday will showcase an appearance by the Grey Cup.
“Since we made the announcement last year, the enthusiasm and excitement for Touchdown Pacific has only increased as the special event draws closer,” said Lions’ President Duane Vienneau.
Due to the overwhelming demand which led to a sellout in less than one hour for the August 31st game, the Lions announced tickets are on sale for a watchparty at Central Park.
Fans will be able to watch the game on the big screen while enjoying food and beverage options, appearances from our Uproar Dance Team and more!
“British Columbia is a recognized leader in event hosting, and we can’t wait to welcome thousands of visitors to Victoria, who will experience the warmth of BC’s hospitality and share in the BC Lions’ historic 70th season,” said Lana Popham, Minister of Tourism, Arts Culture and Sport.
“As we saw with Hockey Day in Canada – which generated $4 million for our region – these events create great business activity for the local economy. I encourage everyone to come out and participate in this free festival and experience the excitement and memories this event will create.”

For those who couldn’t get tickets to watch the game at Royal Athletic Park, which will be fully converted to host a CFL game with upwards of 14,000 fans, the watch party will provide an opportunity to enjoy the game with other BC Lions fans.
