Victoria’s iconic Canada Day fireworks are back this year, lighting up the sky from their launch point at Songhees Park over the Inner Harbour.

The show kicks off shortly after 10 p.m. (likely around 10:20 p.m.) and lasts around eight minutes — a perfect grand finale to a full day of festivities happening throughout downtown.

The pyrotechnics will be paired with a custom soundtrack from local DJ Boitano, adding a little extra boom to the boom.

Looking for the perfect viewing spot?

Whether you’re posting up early with a blanket or arriving just in time for the big show, here are 10 of the best places to catch the Canada Day fireworks in downtown Victoria:

Inner Harbour Causeway

The iconic go-to. You’re right in the heart of it all with reflections off the water and the Parliament Buildings glowing behind you.

Laurel Point Park

A peaceful green space across the harbour with plenty of room for blankets and a stunning view of the sky.

Songhees Walkway

You’ll be close to the launch site here. It’s popular for a reason—arrive early to stake your spot!

Johnson Street Bridge (pedestrian side)

Not only a great view, but also one of the easier locations to exit from when the show wraps up.

Wharf Street Docks

Just steps from downtown shops and patios, this area gives you that up-close feel while staying on solid ground.

Bastion Square

Tucked between buildings with an open view toward the water, it’s a bit of a hidden gem downtown.

Yates Street Parkade (top level)

A classic local hack. Get up high for a panoramic view of the fireworks and the city skyline.

Dallas Road near Ogden Point

Perfect if you want a calmer, more open experience while still being able to see the spectacle from afar. Just keep in mind the lower fireworks may be harder to see.

West Song Walkway (by Spinnakers)

A great mix of scenic views, space to walk, and a few spots to sit. You’ll catch all the action from the Songhees side.

Boom + Batten or LURE patios

Both offer waterfront views and stylish vibes. It’s fireworks with a side of cocktails.

A friend’s condo balcony

If you know someone living in the area with a balcony view, this is your official reminder to reach out now.
